Elle sera bientôt ici à Charolles, la grande bête.  Mais le montage en atelier promettait d’être un moment tellement extraordinaire qu’il a absolument fallu y aller prendre quelques photos.  (Cette fois, il ne s’agissait pas des « deux étages » séparés, mais du buffet tout entier.)  Un voyage-éclair, pas exactement une promenade de santé :  mais quelle récompense ! 

Une intéressante découverte venait d’être faite :  le montage à 100% en atelier ne serait pas possible.  Non pas que la hauteur du buffet soit plus importante que prévue (!) :  le projet de défaire le faux-plafond dans tout un coin du Grenier Saint-Georges a rencontré un obstacle technique …  Mais fort heureusement, les facteurs d’orgue savent gérer tout cela, et plus le cas échéant …

Our organ will soon be in Charolles now.  But the assembly-process in the workshop promised to be such an exciting moment that we just had to go and get some photos.  (This time it was not to be two halves of the case, but the whole height.)  A hasty there-and-back, not exactly a holiday stroll …  but well worth it.

 One recent discovery was that in the end it the organ could not be assembled entirely in the workshop.   Not that the organ-case has turned out higher than planned (!) :  it had been planned to take down part of the false ceiling of the Grenier Saint-Georges …  but not so !  Happily, organ-builders can cope with such things and more besides …
